On Believing Bigger, Beyonding Barriers, and Bold Becoming

Hey Reader!

This week, I was in Costa Rica for the Beyonding Retreat, hosted by my longtime friend Kailei Carr and Pascale Bourne.

So this ain’t my regular LuvvLetter. But I still felt like I needed to write it, because I know someone needs to read this. So for a week, I was in the jungle with some divine women, meditating and doing healing work because this is the season I’ve been called to be in.

I’m someone who has been high achieving for a long time. I’ve been driven to DO for so long. Now, my assignment is to WALK IN WORTH BEYOND WORK. I’m being pushed to let ambition rest for a bit and prioritize self.

So I took this time to go to this retreat, and when I tell you it shifted something in me that I don’t even have words for? WHEW. There’s so much I’m processing. So much I left in the water and in the forest there. But one thing I came back with was an immense sense of wonder. Because I got to witness magic in real time.

And if there weren’t 12 other women with me seeing it happen, I might question myself and convince myself that it didn’t happen.

Did you know that you can summon shooting stars? 🌠🌠🌠

Apparently, you can. I didn’t know.

Do you know that sometimes, God just wants to dazzle us? 🤯

Our last night at the retreat, we stood under the twinkling stars. Literal twinkling stars. Some of them looked like flashlights. They were so bright! We were all walking to our rooms to go pack and one of us went “Hey y’all. Look up at the sky.” And we did and everyone went “WOWWWWWW!!!”

Why? Because it looked like something we had never seen before. None of us had ever seen the sky look so littered with stars, even though many of us have traveled the world. It looked fake. But we just stood there, necks craned up, looking and marveling.

I was like “Well, FLEX ON US THEN, GOD! You showing out!” 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Then someone said “I mean, wouldn’t it be cool to see a shooting star?” And we all agreed and collectively asked for a shooting star. Kailei goes “If we see a shooting star, I will LOSE IT!” RIGHT! Cuz that would be insane! ✨🌟💫

Soooo we keep looking up, seeing Orion’s belt, the North Star. We were stunned by the beauty of it all.

Then… A STAR SHOT ACROSS THE SKY.

AND. WE. ALL. LOST. IT. 😭😭😭

13 women, all 40 years old and over, saw a shooting star and SQUEALED and JUMPED UP AND DOWN like little kids.

WE GOT THE SHOOTING STAR WE ASKED FOR!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

He heard us and said “Yes.” He heard His children and said “I will delight you and dazzle you. Because I love you. You are mine.” 😭🤯❤️

We could not handle it. My heart was bursting out my chest.

Did we just summon a shooting star?!? Like… in real life???

WE DID.

And we stayed under those stars for an hour. Marveling. Laughing. Dreaming. Visioning. Worshipping. Believing. Communing. Praying. Thanking. Transforming. Declaring.

And in that hour, we saw 6 more shooting stars. 🤯🤯🤯 Because we asked for one but He came through with more than we asked for.

We saw boundlessness. We saw divine provision. We saw infinite possibilities.

If we marveled at the twinkling stars above us and we know we are made of the same cosmic glitter, shouldn’t we marvel at ourselves and each other? Shouldn’t we remember that we are miracles with flesh? Shouldn’t we remember to not forget that God is within us?

How do we do life different when we know we can summon shooting stars? How do we move different if we know that we are also reflections of God’s glory, just like those twinkling stars? How do we witness consciousness with more love when we know joy and wonder is our birthright?

What are the limits to what is possible for us? We believed. We expected. We asked. The answer was YES. Because nothing is too big. How does our life change when we WITNESS that in action?

So yeah, I’m still sitting with that. Because had I not had 12 other people with me, who saw what I saw, I might think I made it up.

We can summon shooting stars. 💫💫💫 So what else can we do?
