It feels like I'm in this season where I’m either wildly productive or am getting absolutely nothing done. The amount of work I HAVEN'T done this week... 😩 When I woke up a couple days ago and put on a polka dotted onesie, I knew it was not a day for me to be serious. Over here dressed like a 39 year old baby. I KNEW I wasn't gon get nothing done. 😭😂

Yet somehow I’ve still been chugging along. Saving democracy is hard. 😫

Anywho, while we're talking about important stuff we need to do (or not do), let's dive into what's really on my mind this week. Because chile, we got some things to discuss. 👀

RANT

We got less than 20 days til Election Day, y'all. This is NOT a drill.

​Listen. We are in the endgame now, and I'm not even trying to be dramatic. In less than 20 days, we're gonna decide whether we want to keep our basic rights or hand them over gift-wrapped to folks who think The Handmaid's Tale is an instruction manual. 😩
​
This election ain't just about who sits in the Oval Office. It's about whether our daughters will have fewer rights than our grandmamas. It's about whether we're gonna let Thanos collect all the infinity stones and snap half our freedoms away. 🚫 It’s also the fact that the ENTIRE House of Representatives is up for re-election and 33 seats in the Senate. It’s too muchhhhh. ANDDD whoever gets into office gets to pick another TWO Supreme Court justices. There is SO MUCH on the line here. 😱

And let me tell you something else that's got me shook. There's talk that if Trump wins, they might prop him up like it's Weekend at Bernie's, just long enough to invoke the 25th amendment and let JD Vance the Coucher take over. We cannot afford NONE of this foolishness. 🙅🏾‍♀️

This is not the time to be sitting on the sidelines thinking your vote doesn't matter. Every single vote counts. Every. Single. One. We're not just choosing a president; we're choosing the direction of our country for generations to come. We're choosing whether we want to move forward or get dragged back to a time when folks who look like us didn't have a say.

This is dire, y'all. We are not going back. We cannot wake up on November 6th wishing we'd done more. The thought of waking up to four more years of chaos, division, and erosion of our rights? It's enough to keep me up at night. 😩

And let me be clear: this isn't about party loyalty. This is about human rights, dignity, and the future we want for ourselves and our children. It's about standing up and saying, "Not on my watch."

Let's stop this mess in its tracks. Our future is literally on the line. So get out there and make your voice heard. Because if we don't, someone else will be making decisions for us. And trust me, we don't want that. ❌

REFLECTION

​Last week, I talked about how our silence serves no one. But you know what? That's just step one. The next move is to take ACTION. 💪🏾

What's true about this election (that we can't wake up on November 6th wishing we'd done more) is true about all the things we care about as Professional Troublemakers. When we choose to do our part, we can rest.

When you don’t know what to do next, ask yourself: What's one thing I can do today that my future self will thank me for? What action can I take that aligns with my values and makes a difference? Will my inaction convict me? 🤔💭

​This isn't just about politics. It's about how we show up in the world every day. It's about being the kind of person who doesn't just talk about change, but makes it happen.

The truth is, every big movement, every significant change, started with one person deciding to do something. Movements start with one action, and we all have the power to create ripples that turn into waves. 🌊 Maybe it's having that difficult conversation with a family member who's on the fence about voting. Maybe it's offering to drive your neighbors to the polls. Maybe it's using your social media platform to spread accurate information about voting rights and procedures as misinformation runs amok. 📱🛜

Whatever it is, do it with intention. Do it with the knowledge that your actions matter. Do it knowing that when you look back on this moment in history, you'll be able to say, "I did my part." Like Forever FLOTUS Michelle Obama said, we must “do something.” 💡

​So, Reader, I challenge you to think about what your "something" is going to be. What action can you take this next few weeks that can help in this election? 🤔💡 It doesn't have to be big. It just has to be purposeful.

And here's the beautiful thing: when we do our part, when we take action in line with our values, we can rest easy. We can look ourselves in the mirror and know we're living with integrity. That's a kind of peace that no amount of money or success can buy. ❤️

RECOMMENDATION

VOTE EARLY. And tell others to do the same.

Don't just vote. Vote early. Here's why:

1. Avoid the long lines on Election Day. Trust me, standing in line for hours is not the vibe. ⏰❌
2. Make sure your vote is counted, no last-minute shenanigans. Don't give anyone the chance to mess with your vote. 🗳️✅
3. Free up your schedule to help others get to the polls on Nov 5. Be a voting superhero! 🦸🏾
4. You voting early allows the campaigns to know who they need to spend their time doing additional outreach to. 👥💡

And once you've voted? Don't stop there. Tell everyone you know to do the same. Post that "I Voted" sticker selfie. Offer rides to the polls. Help folks check their registration status. Be that annoying friend who won't shut up about voting. 🗣️📣

Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Don't let anyone tell you different. This isn't just about one election; it's about setting the course for our future. It's about standing up and being counted. It's about saying, "I'm here, I matter, and I have a say in what happens next." 💬💪🏾
