On Faulty Foundations, Forged Faith and Finding Financial Freedom

Hey Reader, β It's been over a week since election day, and I've been sitting with all of this. Processing. Reflecting. I think about Toni Morrison's words: "In times of dread, artists must never choose to remain silent. This is precisely the time when artists go to work." In this moment, that feels like a beacon of light. π―οΈ β Let's get into what's weighing heavy on my mind...
RANT
America keeps showing us exactly who it is. It's time we believe it. β βThe most consequential election of our lives has ended in wounding, as mango mussolini has been re-elected into the office of the President. Let's be real clear about what happened: Kamala Harris ran the campaign of a lifetime and still didn't get the win because sheβs a Black and South Asian woman.
β This feels personal because it IS personal. It's an unequivocal rejection that shows this country would rather choose the orange dumbass over the Black queen. π€ β And please. Miss me with the "she should have optimized her message" or βShe should have gone on Joe Roganβ nonsense. Kamala could have had Jesus Christ as her running mate and this racist, misogynist, capitalist hellhole would nail her AND him to the cross while calling themselves Christians. People claiming she lost because of Gaza need to be for real too. We are the same country where school shootings are so common that now there are drills. So you wanna tell me the majority of folks here care about whatβs happening to other children across continents? Please. She lost because she's a Black and South Asian woman. And the one thing the American Empire gon do is hustle backwards. π€¦πΎββοΈ β Black women have paid our dues, yet this country won't stop charging us, trying to get us to overdraft. Maya Angelou told us that when people show us who they are, believe them. Yet we keep hoping America would be better than it has always shown us.
At this point, to tell our girls they can be anything they wanna be feels like a lie. Because can they really? When we keep hitting our heads against the glass ceiling, with the shards of the broken pieces continuing to cut us. π β Yeahβ¦ our country tis of thee. Sweet land of liability. π
REFLECTION
Broken hearts, clear eyes. β βHere's one thing: I'm not absorbing the message of not being enough. It's not mine to take in. It's like when somebody calls you stupid, but you know you're the smartest person in the building. You take note and move accordingly. πͺπΎ β This election has left us with broken hearts but clear eyes. We see the truth. We know the truth. We've always known the truth, but we dare to still hope, and that in itself is a form of strength. As a Black woman in this moment, I feel shaken but not broken. Because this country will not steal our joy, try as it may. π
And for us to be continuously reminded about how much the United States of America does not value us? We still move, chin up. However, the body keeps the score while the soul bears the scars. β Black women, Black people. I see us. I SEE US and have so much tenderness for us. At the same time, I am reminded that when you are forged by fire, it doesn't burn you any longer. When we let the world burn, we will walk through it. We won't be completely unscathed, but we will fare better than most because we have been tried and tested under so much denigration. Folks have had their feet on our necks for centuries. In whatβs to come, we might even thrive because this is familiar. We are ancestrally prepared for such a time as this. π₯
Joy is my birthright. Community is my birthright. Love is my birthright. β€οΈ

Economic power determines our ability to resist. This isn't just about prosperity. This isn't just about success. This is about survival in its most fundamental form.
We cannot fight for justice when we're fighting to keep our lights on. We cannot fund movements while dodging bill collectors. We cannot protect voting rights when we're working three jobs to make rent. We cannot sustain resistance when our bank accounts are empty. π πΎββοΈ
Thatβs why Iβm lifting up the work of the brilliant Chloe Hakim-Moore (who has built 2 eight-figure businesses - $10 million+), because we need to know how to build sustainable businesses that can help us create generational wealth without sacrificing our lives and well-being. The GOAL is to build businesses and wealth, but to do it without burnout. Amen? Cause we need to protect our rest, our integrity, and our peace as we grow. πͺπΎ
If youβve followed along with the last season of the Professional Troublemaker podcast, you know Iβve been getting super real about the grind of entrepreneurship, and how my company almost went bankrupt in 2023. And how Iβm now rebuilding. βοΈπ οΈ β I've talked about how folks often teach what they haven't even perfected and it grinds my gears. Well, CHLOE knows her stuff and she's the RIGHT ONE to teach us how to do this without burnout. π‘ β βSo sign up for the ENTREPRENEUR EXCEL free training, happening November 20 at 7pm ET.
